About Rob

Rob’s background includes recently serving two years with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on the East National Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT). Rob has managed healthcare preparedness programs in a large Level 1 trauma center and multi-hospital systems. He currently leads a healthcare systems preparedness program in the mid-coast area of California, USA. He started his healthcare service as a certified surgical technologist at Dartmouth Medical center and was a hospital based paramedic; today he is a well-respected EMS educator and national lecturer on tactical medicine, and was an EMS Coordinator in Colorado Springs. Rob has multiple book review credits in EMS. Rob was a faculty presenter at the 10th anniversary of 9/11 to an International EMS conference. He has a BS in Fire Science and an MS in Public Administration with a concentration in Emergency Management and is currently a Doctoral candidate in Homeland Security. Rob was a deputy sheriff and operator medic on a tactical and explosive ordinance disposal team and a hazardous materials technician for a county hazardous materials response team and has spent time as a combat medic instructor for the U.S. Army having taught at Fort Carson, Northern Command, NORAD, Space Command, Peterson AFB, Shriver AFB, and Air Force Academy and in Kuwait, in Operation Enduring Freedom, as well as explosive ordinance delivery to Saudi Arabia during desert shield/storm. Rob has extensive experience, education, and certification in disaster response, healthcare emergency management, tactical medicine, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive incident management, planning, protocols, and response.
